Haha! My father was in the 101st airbourne division and fought in Bastogne and Anzio during the same time period this took place. For someone whom had a parent such as me and was educated about the history it really chokes me up. What about the scene where he (the child) is walking through the trenches and covers up the solider with the blanket. That’s WILD! VERY powerful scene, but like I mention before, most people see it as a chance to get stoned and laugh at it, Sad.

Right on. My ex girlfriend thought WW2 happened in the 60’s but she was from Essex so I forgave her lol

I think what most people don’t get is, this movie isn’t just about one particular topic, although the theme of war and loss powerfully weaves itself through the movie. There’s a handful of very powerful and poignant scenes such as this that really do an awesome job at showcasing the events of the time, important events that most people don’t care to know about these days.

Yea so true, the guy that plays pink’s Dad reminds me of my Dad and his RAF stories and medals. My Dad told me his grandad had a bomb dropped on his house after refusing to leave with the rest of the family so its quite a powerful scene to watch.

what did you get rickrolled for the first time?

  13. cyborg00000 on March 15th, 2010 at 2:39 pm

The Wall in the movie has little relation of the Berlin wall. The “bricks” of this wall where made up of people like his mother, school master and wife. To JimmyTheJelly, you’re missing a song tittle there..

  17. CamoJackv2 on March 15th, 2010 at 4:46 pm

The first song is now and the second song is the next generation and the wall is government and all the bills and laws were just bricks in the wall

  18. atomicmetalhead666 on March 15th, 2010 at 5:01 pm

the berlin wall was just a physical metaphor that roger waters meant when he wrote the album

  19. gwar265 on March 15th, 2010 at 5:16 pm

    youtube sucks

The sad things is, there is a alot of real history in this movie, and it’s more or less been relegated to a movie to watch on LSD,etc. I think being from parents who remember a lot of what they mention, the bombing on London, etc I can really appreciate most of the film

  21. yeti1664 on March 15th, 2010 at 5:56 pm

I remember watching the beach scenes being filmed ,

  22. thatguyoverthere12 on March 15th, 2010 at 6:15 pm

This movie would be INSANE on LSD.

  23. soulweaver4 on March 15th, 2010 at 7:09 pm

this movie is about a guy who gets disturbed and depressed
and builds a wall around himself, but yes the wall also stands for the berlin wall

  24. tumeke543 on March 15th, 2010 at 7:48 pm

i swear, the little kid at 4:01 looks just like my brother LOL

i’ve always loved this movie (not to mention the album itself)
i don’t know why but i always end up cryng when i watch this, even though i know it’s just hollywood XD
